This species does better in a dry habitat though egg cases need some moisture now and then to hatch properly. Males have long textured wings, while females are squat, wingless, and reclusive. Females continue producing fertile oothecae throughout their long two-year-plus lifespan. Feed them a little dried dogfood, fruits and vegetables, although their primary diet is dried leaves.
